CFP: Journal Article on Influence of Eastern Philosophy for Special Issue

Dr. Kate Hext is editing a special issue on Literature and Philosophy in Victorian Britain for a leading journal. Now, in the final stages of the commissioning process, she is looking for an article on the influence of Eastern philosophy on Victorian literature. This could take one of several forms:

• A survey approach - general discussion of one aspect of interactions between philosophical discourses and literary works spanning several authors
• A concentrated discussion of a particular literary figure and the influence of a philosopher/philosophical work on his her work
• A discussion of the influence of a philosopher on several literary figures
