For those interested in the women's suffrage movement of the
long nineteenth century, be sure to check out an exhibit at the Bourne Hall
Museum, "Suffragette Surrey," curated by Irene Cockroft, who has produced
fascinating exhibits of suffrage movement artifacts in various museums
throughout the UK.
This Surrey exhibit, in Ewell, has been extended into
early August, with a one-day seminar on July 27 commemorating the
centenary of the death of Emily Wilding Davison. Seminar speakers include
Helen Pankhurst, Kathy Atherton, Frances Bedford, Carol Brown, and Colin
Cartwright. For further information, please contact DBrooks@epsom-ewell.gov.uk.
